(short doc, promotional)

This Short Documentary-Style Promotional Video celebrates the first North American Blu-ray release of Cowboy Bebop, the Iconic Animated Series. With the project, our team was given a loose prompt and a tiny budget. Tasked with creating an outward-facing video highlighting Funimation’s Creative, Marketing, and Productions teams’ role in creating and coordinating this highly-anticipated release. The result is this energetic and sincere love letter for a beloved fixture of pop culture. The team shares their excitement and and enthusiasm, expressing their love for the series and describing their contributions to the release. My role in creating this particular item was Direction and Ideation, Video Editing, Set Design, and the Conducting of Interviews.

In this Short Documentary, Funimation speaks with Academic Instructors and Anime English Voice Director about the seminal work of acclaimed animated film director Mamoru Hosoda. Focusing on Hosoda’s then only four auteur works, this piece features Interviews lending context and insight, as well as highlights from each film (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, Wolf Children, The Boy and The Beast). My role for this item was Direction, Editing, Color Grading, and the Conducting of Interviews. Celebrating four special edition releases, together named The Hosoda Collection, this is a loving and reverent nod to the Master Filmmaker.

Saiyaman Says So

(promotional video)

This light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek promo for Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters captures to the fun and humor of the beloved Dragon Ball franchise. With a tight budget and even tighter schedule, my role in producing this item was widespread, include Storyboarding, Direction of both On-Screen and Voice Talent, Wardrobe, and editing. I was also tasked with compiling the pitch presented to Toei Animation, the series’ Japanese licensors. Toei is naturally protective of their flagship title, so our team was delighted to get the green light for such a project, given its very loose and wacky aesthetic.
